Make your first drink
- Open the shop. Choose “Open for business!” on the welcome screen. The counter stays closed until this opening step is complete.
- Read the order ticket. A drink can have several steps. Follow the highlighted step rather than tapping every ingredient you can see.
- Hold the matching bottle. The cup fills while you hold it. Watch the liquid boundary and let go near the dashed line. Releasing locks that layer; repeatedly tapping is a poor way to judge a continuous pour.
- Follow the shake prompt. Use the on-screen rhythm cue rather than repeatedly pressing at random. Finish the active preparation step before looking for the next one.
- Serve the completed order. Check that preparation is finished, then use SERVE. Read the rating before beginning the next ticket.
Why stopping at the line matters
The game grades the distance between each requested boundary and the amount you poured. Going past a line is not corrected by starting the next layer. As a practical example, if the ticket asks for two layers, stop the first liquid at its own line; do not fill the whole cup with it and expect the second ingredient to replace it.
For a new drink, make one careful pour and observe how quickly that ingredient rises. Different liquids can flow at different speeds. Release slightly sooner if your last attempt overshot, then adjust from the visible result. There is no single holding time that works for every order.
Later orders are not the tutorial
The tutorial skips optional toppings and taste choices. Once those steps appear, match the requested sweetness and ice settings and confirm them. A topping shown on the shelf is not permission to add it to every drink. Treat the current ticket as the source of truth.
| Task | Mouse or touch |
|---|---|
| Pour a layer | Press and hold its bottle; release near the line |
| Choose ingredients or taste | Click or tap the requested option |
| Finish a skill step | Follow the active on-screen cue |
| Complete the order | Use SERVE after preparation |
Recover from a low-rated order
Use the next order to improve one decision at a time. If you overfilled, release earlier. If you chose the wrong ingredient, read the ticket before holding a bottle. If the next step will not start, check whether the active step needs a confirmation or completion input. A low rating is useful feedback; it does not mean your browser controls have failed.
Common questions
Can I undo an overfilled layer?
Releasing commits the boundary. Aim to improve the next pour rather than assuming there is an undo for a committed layer.
Is Boba Lab a real bubble-tea recipe tutorial?
No. Its ingredients and skill prompts are game mechanics. Follow the ticket to succeed in the game.
Do I need an account?
You can play in the browser without an account. Game progress stored on the device can be lost if browser storage is cleared.
