Fruit merge game strategy: make space and avoid overflow

In Mekong Fruit Merge, two fruits of the same tier merge when they touch. Aim your drops to keep matching fruit reachable and leave room below the red line. A tall pile that stays above that line can end the run, even when a merge looks close.

Aim first, then drop

Move the mouse or drag to choose a horizontal position, then release to drop the held fruit. Keyboard players can use Left and Right to aim and Space to drop. Check the next-fruit preview when it is available. Allow the pile to settle before deciding where the next fruit should go.

Keep matches accessible

A small fruit trapped underneath larger fruit is difficult to reach. Instead of making the tallest possible tower, look for a low position where the current fruit can touch another of its tier. A merge creates a larger fruit; leave room for that larger shape rather than planning only for the two small ones.

Compare two drops

Suppose a matching lime sits low on the left, while the centre already has a tall stack. Dropping over the lime may create a merge and keep the top lower. Dropping over the centre may leave two matching fruits separated by larger neighbours. The first choice is often more useful, but collisions can change the final position: aiming at a match does not guarantee contact.

In a second situation, two larger matching fruits are separated by a small fruit. Adding another large fruit directly above them can raise the pile without solving the separation. Look for an accessible match for the small fruit or a lower drop that leaves the gap usable. Avoid repeatedly stacking over the same blocked spot.

Understand the overflow warning

The red line marks the danger area. A fruit remaining above it for more than two seconds triggers the loss condition; newly dropped fruit has a short grace period. That grace is time for settling, not permission to build a permanent tower above the rim. When the warning appears, seek an immediate low merge instead of waiting indefinitely.

Use the preview and swaps deliberately

Classic gives a limited set of swaps between the current and next fruit. Use one when the next fruit has a clear, useful landing and the current fruit does not. Swapping without checking both fruits can spend the helper while leaving the same problem. Daily modifiers can change the basket or remove preview features, so read the daily rule before relying on a Classic tactic.

It has gentle controls, but the pile is not static

Fruit rolls and bounces. Market events can disturb the pile, so avoid plans that need every fruit to remain in an exact position. Leave a margin below the danger line and reassess after movement. This is a strategy game with unpredictable-looking collisions, not a guaranteed sequence that wins every seed.

Common questions

Do two different-sized fruits merge?

They must be the same tier. Touching different tiers produces a collision, not an upgrade.

Is this the official Suika Game?

No. Mekong Fruit Merge is a separate FunGameHouse game with its own fruit ladder and floating-market setting.

Can I keep fruit above the red line?

Only briefly while it settles. Staying above the line long enough ends the run.
